Songbird Anna – Storytelling Through Song
As my songwriting has developed, I’ve begun creating songs inspired by some truly fascinating topics — from personal family history to overlooked moments in social history. Using my autoharp, I bring these stories to life through heartfelt performances that blend music and storytelling.
I offer something a little different for your event — sessions that blend music, storytelling, and social history, perfect for heritage groups, U3A meetings, local gatherings, festivals, libraries, and community venues.
🎵 blood lines and ballads
Discover the music hidden in your own family history.
This is my most personal and unique session — inspired by my own ancestors, from Irish Gentry, Mariners and Welsh Miners. Through a mix of original songs and true stories from my own family tree, I take audiences on a journey across generations.
You’ll hear tales of resilience, adventure, and love — and I’ll also share simple, practical tips on how to start researching your own ancestry. A wonderful mix of heritage and music, this session sparks curiosity and connection.
💌 Love Letters from Another Era
Step into a world of handwritten romance and quiet strength.
Based on my parents’ real-life courtship letters, this gentle session is full of nostalgic charm, with songs that reflect enduring love and the power of words across distance and time.
📬 The Musical Postbag
Ordinary lives. Extraordinary moments.
Inspired by 100-year-old postcards and family letters, this session brings the past to life in a truly relatable way — exploring the everyday stories behind seaside holidays, family connections and messages from a slower, simpler time.
🎤 How It Works
Each session is easy to follow, seated-audience friendly, and can be tailored by combining two themes of your choice. I bring everything I need — including sound equipment — and create a relaxed, warm atmosphere that invites people to listen, reflect, and connect.
Whether you’re planning a daytime talk, a community event, or just looking for something truly different, I’d love to be part of it.
